Part Detail is the panel in Door Design where you set a door’s size, material, glass, handle and sections. The New door panel walks you through the same tabs step by step; for a selected door, the same fields are in Part Detail on the right.

Short answer

Press Project › New door on the ribbon. In the New door panel on the left, enter the model, material, height, width and quantity in the Size step; go on to the other steps with Next, or press Add right away. In the last step, Add door writes the door into the order.

Adding a new door

  1. Press Project › New door on the ribbon.
  2. The tabs at the top of the New door panel are the steps: Size, Sloped, Arched, Glass, Handle, Tall, Drawer.
  3. In each step, Forward goes to the next step and Back to the previous one; pressing a tab jumps to that step.
  4. All steps are optional: you can press Add at any step.
  5. In the last step, press Add door. While the panel is open, the preview shows the draft.

To change a selected door, press Library › Part detail on the ribbon; the same tabs open on the right.

Size

  • Model. The door’s pattern; the Library button opens the Door Library, and the Parametric button opens the pattern panel.
  • Material. One of the boards in the project.
  • Size and quantity. Height, Width and Qty; if the model has a frame, the Frame size. The PVC banding switch and Band thickness (0.4 / 0.8 / 1 / 2 mm), Corner radius.
  • Price and note. This door’s price per m² (0 means the model’s or the setting’s price) and Room / note.

Sloped and Arched

  • Sloped cabinet. When Trapezoid door (left and right height separate) is turned on, you enter the Left height and Right height; the pattern adapts to the door.
  • Hood door. When Bottom edge arched is turned on, you enter the End flat and Arch depth. Forcing the arch can distort the pattern.
  • Center panel. Double center panel (right / left), in layered models.

Glass

When the Glass door switch is on, you choose the Glass edge and Glass shape; for arched shapes you enter the Arch rise (0 is automatic). You set Apply the model’s pattern to the glass too, Which line the glass starts from, muntins with Columns and Rows, Bar (muntin) and Corner radius. The Glass groove is set to None, Front face or Back face; for a groove you enter the width and depth.

Handle and hinge

  • Handle. Door role (automatic, Base cabinet, Wall cabinet, Drawer, Tall cabinet), Handle to fit, Horizontal position (Auto, Right, Left, Center) and Distance from edge. The handle height comes from the rules for the role in Door Settings.
  • Hinge. Hinge model, Hinge side (Left, Right, Top, Bottom) and Qty (0 means by height).
  • J-handle groove. When the groove edge is chosen: Inset from edge, Depth, Start, Length (0 for full length), Pass spacing and Plunge retract.

If “Assign hardware automatically by door” is on in Door Settings, new doors come with the default hinge and handle.

Tall and Drawer

  • Tall door sections. When Split door is on, you enter the Number of sections, Mid rail and, if you like, the section heights. The door is cut as one piece; the pattern is applied in each section at its own height.
  • Drawer set. On a new door, “Add as drawer set” is turned on; in the Door heights (top to bottom) box you type sizes such as 150+300+300 or ratios such as 15+30+30. “Pattern as a set” continues the pattern across the front. The joint gap between them is the Drawer joint gap under Door Settings › Order. Split a set into separate doors with Split set.
Tip: If a warning appears below the preview (a line that does not fit, a clipped groove), the details are in the Warnings section of Part Detail.

Frequently asked questions

Right-click the door and choose Swap Width ↔ Height. This command is off for sloped doors and drawer sets.

Type the Qty in the Size step, or duplicate the row with Copy on the ribbon.

If Qty is 0, it comes from the hinge steps in Door Settings › Rules based on door height.
