Getting the cut list
Last updated: · By: the moducut team
The cut list is the moducut window that gathers the parts of every module in the project into one table, with cabinet name, part name, material, size, quantity and PVC banding. The list is built from the drawing on its own; it is ready from the moment you add a module to the room.
Short answer
Opening the cut list
- Open the project and press Cut in the Production group of the ribbon (Alt + F).
- The Cut List window opens; the total number of parts and total area (m²) are shown below the title.
- Choose the view from the tabs at the top: List, Sheet, Module, Quote or Labels.
- Reload recalculates the list.

Banding
What do the columns mean?
On the List tab, each row is the parts of one cabinet that share the same size:
- Cabinet Name and Part Name. The module’s name and the part’s name in the module: side, bottom panel, shelf, door and so on.
- Material. The board’s material and pattern.
- Length, Width and Thk. Cutting size and thickness, in mm. Sizes come with the banding allowance deducted.
- Qty. The number of parts on that row; the module’s Set Quantity value is taken into account.
- PVC. A summary of banded edges; a part with no banding shows a dash.
Sheet and Module views
- Sheet. Groups parts by material; each board group starts with the part count, area and approximate number of sheets. Banded rows show the finished size and banding next to the cutting size.
- Module. Lists parts cabinet by cabinet; under each cabinet, the hardware counts and the edge holes that need a horizontal drilling unit are listed. This view is used like an assembly sheet.
- Quote and Labels. For the price calculation and part labels; details are on the Quote and price list and Part labels pages.
Parts that stay out of the list
Parts with the Don't send to cutting switch on in Part Properties in design mode, dummy cabinets, accessories and stone worktops do not go into the cut list. With the Show Parts Not Sent to Cutting Faded button on the view bar, you can tell these parts apart in 3D. Parts you type into the Sizing window and panels without a carcass created with Single Part Processing do go into the list.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Export the list as an Excel file with Export to Excel, or as plain text with CSV, and share it with your cutting service; Export with Profile gives the CSV and XML formats that panel saws read. Details are on the Exporting the cut list page.
If there are no modules in the room yet, the window says "The cut list is built here once you add modules to the room". Add a module from the library; the list fills right away.
Length and Width are cutting sizes, meaning the band thickness is deducted. You see the finished size next to banded rows on the Sheet tab.
