moducut is a desktop program for furniture workshops that runs only on Windows; you download the installer from our website and install it on your computer. This page explains installation, the 7-day trial and how to activate your license. The interface and support are in English.

Short answer

Fill in the form on the Download page, download the installer and install it. moducut starts the 7-day trial on its own the first time it opens; the computer must be online for this. When you buy a license, you type your license code and activation code under Settings › License on the start screen.

System requirements

moducut runs only on Windows; there is no Mac, tablet or browser version. The program runs on your computer: your projects, customer names and measurements never leave it. An internet connection is needed to start the trial and verify the license; you do not need to stay online to draw, or to get cut lists or G-code.

Installing and starting the trial

  1. Fill in the form on the Download page. Your installer downloads with a name made for you and a setup code appears on screen; keep this code.
  2. Run the installer and follow the steps in the wizard.
  3. Open moducut. The trial starts on its own; if the program asks for the setup code, type the code you saw on the download page and press Start trial.
  4. During the trial, the bar at the bottom of the screen shows the days left; on the last day a "Trial: last day" warning appears.

Every feature of the program is unlocked in the trial; up to 10 sheets in total can be sent to production. The Enter license link in the bar at the bottom of the screen lets you enter a license code before the trial ends.

Entering the license code

moducut has two plans: the 1-Year Plan and the Lifetime Plan. Every feature is unlocked in both; details are on the Pricing page. When you buy a plan, you are given a license code and an activation code.

  1. On the start screen, open Settings from the left menu and choose License in the Account group.
  2. In the Enter license code section, type your license code starting with MDC-, and your activation code in the field below it.
  3. Press Activate.
  4. Check that the Status field has updated. When licensed, the Validity field shows the license end date or Perpetual.

On the License page you also see the machine ID and the last verification time. Verify now refreshes the license status right away.

When the trial or license ends

When the trial or license period ends, moducut does not open until a license code and activation code are entered. Your work is not lost: the autosave stays on your computer, and everything opens where you left off when you enter the license.

  • The license has not been verified for a long time. Connect the computer to the internet and press Try again.
  • The computer’s clock has been set back. Correct the date and time, connect to the internet, then press Try again.
  • The license has expired. To renew, contact us; you enter the new license code and activation code in the same window.
Tip: When asking for support, sending us your account ID and machine ID from Settings › Profile speeds things up.

Updates

When a new version is released, an info bar appears in the program. Install now downloads and verifies the new version, starts the installer and closes the program; when installation finishes, moducut reopens and your work comes back from the autosave. Later hides the bar for that session only; it appears again the next time you open the program.

Frequently asked questions

No, every feature is unlocked. The only limit: up to 10 sheets in total can be sent to production during the trial (G-code, CIX, back-side program and sheet DXF). The remaining allowance is shown in the bar at the bottom of the screen; the limit goes away with a license. The only difference between the plans is the license term.

You need the internet to start the trial. After that, drawing and production outputs work offline; connecting the computer to the internet now and then is enough for the license to be verified from time to time.
