- Sheets = Σ (number of sheets × price per sheet); carcass, back panel and door sheets are separate rows.
- Edge banding = banding length × price per meter. Labor = hours × hourly rate.
- Total cost = sheets + edge banding + hardware + labor + other costs.
- Selling price = cost × (1 + markup ÷ 100). The markup is added on top of the cost; its share of the selling price is profit ÷ selling price.
- If you enter a sales tax or VAT rate, price including tax = selling price × (1 + rate ÷ 100).
- All prices are the values you enter; the tool does not suggest prices.
Worked example
The figures are only an example. 3 sheets × $50 = $150; 40 m of banding × $0.50 = $20; hardware $50; 10 hours × $25 = $250 of labor; other costs $30. Total cost $500. With a 25% markup, the selling price is 500 × 1.25 = $625; profit is $125, 20% of the selling price.

Frequently asked
questions
First work out the cost of the cabinet: sheets, edge banding, hardware, labor and other costs. The selling price is that cost plus your markup; sales tax is added separately. If you quote by the linear meter, it is safer to derive the unit price from jobs you have costed item by item.
Markup is the percentage added on top of the cost: a 25% markup on a $1,000 cost gives a $1,250 selling price. Profit margin is profit as a share of the selling price: $250 ÷ $1,250 = 20%. The tool shows both.
Sheets, edge banding, hardware (hinges, slides, handles, screws), labor, and other costs such as panel sizing, delivery and installation supplies. You can add each job’s share of overheads like rent and electricity to other costs.
