How are the quote and cost calculated?
Cost and hardware · Last updated:
Short answer
The quote multiplies the quantities in the cut list by your unit prices: number of sheets, meters of banding, pieces of hardware and labor per module. After nesting, the real consumption of the layout comes out in the Consumption and Cost panel of Nesting Results.
Step by step
- Open the Cut List with Production › “Cut” and go to the “Quote” tab.
- Rows come in four groups: Sheet (sheets), Band (m), Hardware (pcs) and Labor (module); quantities are counted from the drawing.
- Type the unit prices; the Total is calculated on its own. The “(approx.)” note on the sheet row means the count is estimated from area without waste.
- For exact consumption, run the layout with Production › “Nesting”; in the Consumption and Cost panel of Nesting Results, sheet, edge banding, connector, hinge, hole and cutting items are counted from the layout.
- To get the quote as a file, press “Export to Excel” while on the Quote tab.
In the Consumption and Cost panel you can enter the sheet price “Per sheet” or “Per m²” and add your own items with “Add Item”; “Print” gives the panel as a printout.
