# Placing modules

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Placing a module means putting the cabinet you picked from the library into the room and moving it to the right spot along the wall; settings such as size, height and quantity change from the module’s right-click menu. This page covers everyday work with modules in the room.

> **Short answer** Click a module in the library and it is placed in the room; drag it along the wall. To change its size, right-click the module and choose **Cabinet Properties**.

## Placing and moving

1. Open the panel with **Modules › Library** and click a module.
2. Drag the module into place. With **View › Magnet** on, the module snaps to the wall and the neighboring module; holding Alt turns snapping off for that moment.
3. Select several modules by clicking with Ctrl. The right-click menu applies to the whole selection.
4. Duplicate the selected module with Ctrl + D and delete it with Delete. Ctrl + Z undoes, Ctrl + Shift + Z redoes.

You check the modules’ position on the wall more easily in plan view, and their heights in 3D; to see both together, choose Both on the view bar.

## Right-click menu

When you right-click a module, these commands appear:

- **Edit.** Opens the module in [design mode](/en/docs/modules/module-design-mode/); double-clicking the module does the same.
- **Rename.** Changes the module’s name; the name is written in the Cabinet Name column of the cut list.
- **Properties.** Opens Part Properties for the clicked part. If several modules are selected, Bulk Edit opens.
- **Cabinet Properties.** Enter width, height and depth in the floating panel on the right; Save applies them.
- **Mirror Copy.** Creates a copy with the hinges, handles, upright compartments and the left / right plinth, crown and fillers swapped. The steps are in the [help article](/en/help/mirror-copying/).
- **Assembly Sheet.** Prints the front views of the selected cabinets, with and without doors, with dimensions; print with Print / PDF or save as PDF.
- **Change All Connector Settings.** Changes the module’s carcass, upright, shelf, plinth and drawer connectors in one go.
- **Height from Floor.** Enter the module’s height from the floor in mm; the plinth or legs are not included in this value.
- **Rotate 90° (Clockwise) and Rotate 90° (Counterclockwise).** Rotates the module on its own axis.
- **Copy.** Creates a copy of the module.
- **Send to Nesting.** Lays out only this module’s parts on sheets.
- **Set Quantity.** Enter how many of the same cabinet will be cut; the cut list and labels multiply by this quantity.
- **Side Filler.** Adds, edits or removes a filler on the module’s left or right side.
- **Delete module.** Removes the module from the room.

## Assembly sheet

In the Assembly Sheet window you tick which cabinets to print; in the Images on page section, the With doors and Without doors front views are turned on separately. Each cabinet is written on the page with its name, size and quantity. It is used to show the assembly team how the cabinet will look from the front.

## Dummy cabinets and appliances

The Dummy Cabinet modules in the library are for display only and do not go to cutting. Appliances such as built-in ovens and dishwashers also take up space in the room; when you add a worktop, undercounter appliances stay below it.

> **Tip:** To work on modules in the same row together, use the Select aligned ones option in the Crown and Worktop tools.

## Frequently asked questions

### I am making three of the same cabinet; do I need to draw it three times?

No. Right-click the module, choose Set Quantity and type the total number to cut. The cut list and labels are calculated for that quantity.

### I deleted a module by mistake; how do I get it back?

Ctrl + Z or Edit › Undo on the ribbon undoes the last operation.

### Is the plinth included in the height from floor?

No. The value you enter in the Height from Floor window is measured from the top of the plinth or legs; the plinth height is added separately.
