# Handles and gola

Last updated: October 25, 2026

A handle is the part you hold to open a door or drawer; a gola is the finger gap formed by a profile set into the carcass for handleless doors. In moducut, a handle, gola or handle machined into the door is chosen for a single door or for all doors of the module.

> **Short answer** In design mode, right-click the door and open **Handle Selection**; choose where to apply it, the handle model, the direction and the position and press **Apply**. To change many modules at once, use the Handle tab of **Room Design › Bulk**.

## Handle types

When you click a door or drawer front, the Handle section in Part Properties has four options:

- **No handle.** The door has no handle.
- **Handle.** A handle model defined in Handle Management is fitted.
- **Gola.** A gola profile is set into the carcass and the door opens without a handle.
- **On door.** The handle is machined into the door itself: J handle, Cut-out handle or 45° chamfer handle. On the On-door edge row you choose whether the handle is on the Top, Bottom or Opposite the hinge edge; on drawer fronts, this handle is always on the top edge.

## Handle Selection

1. In design mode, right-click the door and choose **Handle Selection**. The Handle Selection area opens in Part Properties.
2. In the Apply to section, choose Selected door or All doors.
3. Choose the handle in the Handle model section.
4. On the Direction row choose Opposite hinge or Center, and on the Position row choose Top, Center or Bottom.
5. Choose the color in the Handle color section and press **Apply**; **Cancel** discards the changes.

## Gola handle

When you click a door, the Gola Handle section also appears in Part Properties:

- **Gola on top (J).** Puts a profile above the door, under the top panel.
- **Gola between (C).** Puts a profile between two doors; the C profile is shared with the door below.
- **Cut gola channel in sides.** This switch in the Carcass group cuts the profile channel into the side panels.

The gola is applied to the module’s whole carcass; save with **Apply**. The meters of gola profile appear on the Gola profile row of the hardware list.

## Bulk handle change

1. Press **Room Design › Bulk** and choose the scope: Whole project, Base cabinets, Wall cabinets or the modules you selected in 3D.
2. Open the **Handle** tab.
3. On the Handle row, choose Add or Remove.
4. Choose No handle, Gola or a handle model from the Handle type list.
5. In the position grid, mark the handle’s place on the door from 1 to 9 and press **Apply**.

## Handle Management

The **Handle** card in **Settings › General Settings** in the editor opens the window where you keep handle records. Records are written to handle profiles and appear in the Handle Selection and Bulk Edit lists. Handle counts are totaled on the Handle row of the hardware list.

> **Tip:** Try the handle position on a single door first with Selected door; when it looks right, apply it to the rest of the module with All doors.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does a handle machined into the door go into the hardware list?

No. J handles, cut-out handles and 45° chamfer handles are machined into the door itself, so they do not count as separate handle hardware.

### Can handles be fitted to drawer fronts too?

Yes. Handle settings are chosen from the same section on doors and drawer fronts; when you click a drawer front, the Handle section appears as well.

### Does the handle go away when I choose gola?

Yes. When you choose Gola in the Handle section, the doors of that carcass become handleless and open from the gola profile.
