# Exporting the cut list

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Exporting the cut list means saving it as an Excel, CSV or XML file, or printing it and getting a PDF, so the list can go to a cutting service, a panel saw or your bookkeeping. All export buttons are in the Cut List window.

> **Short answer** Open the Cut List with **Production › Cut**. **Export to Excel** at the bottom of the window saves an .xlsx file; **Export with Profile…** gives CSV or XML for a panel saw; **Print** opens the print dialog, from which you can save as PDF.

## Exporting to Excel

1. Press **Production › Cut** to open the Cut List window.
2. Choose the tab. From the List tab, the Excel file is a single-sheet cut list; from the other tabs, the file has three sheets: Cutting list, Assembly sheet and Quote.
3. Press **Export to Excel** and choose where to save the file. The file name starts with the project name and ends with -kesim-listesi.xlsx.

Numbers are written as numbers in the Excel file, so you can sum and sort them in the workshop. Every saved file is reported at the bottom of the screen.

**Exported files**

~~~text
kitchen-kesim-listesi.xlsx
kitchen-kesim-listesi.csv
kitchen-teklif.csv
kitchen-yatay-delikler.zip
~~~

## Getting a CSV

The **CSV** button at the top of the window saves the list as plain text. On the Quote tab, the same button saves the quote as a -teklif.csv file.

## Exporting with a profile

The **Export with Profile…** list has three profiles:

- **Generic CSV (;).** Parts of the same size on one row, separated by semicolons.
- **Panel saw CSV.** Each part on its own row with a barcode.
- **XML.** Each part as its own element with a barcode.

If you chose a cut list profile for a panel saw in Production Line Setup, this list is also written to that machine’s folder automatically when you export G-code.

## Printing and getting a PDF

**Print** prepares the cut list and assembly sheet as a printable page and opens the print dialog. For a PDF file, choose save as PDF in the print dialog. On the Labels tab, the button is called **Print Labels** and prints the part labels. The Door List and Hardware List windows have the same Print button.

## Horizontal hole package

For parts with horizontal holes in their edges, the **Horizontal holes** button saves a single ZIP package: it contains a CIX program for each part and a hole list (CSV) for drilling by hand. When saved, the number of parts and horizontal holes is reported; if no part has edge holes, a "No part has edge holes" message appears.

> **Tip:** Before sending the list, check the PVC column on the List tab; parts with no banding show a dash, so a forgotten band stands out right away.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I save straight to PDF?

moducut gets PDFs through the print dialog: press Print and choose save as PDF in the print dialog. The PDF (Active Sheet) button in Nesting Results also makes a PDF of the selected sheet’s layout the same way.

### Which file does my panel saw read?

If your machine’s software expects barcoded rows, use the Panel saw CSV profile; if it reads XML, use the XML profile. You choose the barcode layout on the Barcode and Output tab of Production Line Setup.

### Where is the Excel file saved?

When you press Export to Excel, a save dialog opens; you choose the location and name of the file.
